Heaven & Earth: On My Way

Original oil painting on panel, size 5" x 7". One from the Heaven & Earth Series titled On My Way. I painted a series of paintings from close to home, with images of scenes that reflected the way I felt when dealing with my mother's Alzheimers. This scene depicted the gravel road that leads to the highway on the way to visit my mother in the nursing home. I was always met with mixed emotions. Always happiness to see my mom but also a sense of sadness that she had to be in a nursing home. On this day, the gloomy skies opened and showed me a bright patch of blue. Perhaps brighter days were on the horizon.
